Keep Calm and Do Yoga

Hi there, how's everyone ? This time i am going to blog about my yoga journey. I start practising yoga since last year October 2015, but i did on and off to attend yoga classes when i was in uni. I enjoy doing yoga because it really helps me a lot to relax, calming down myself, better sleep at night and of course i love the feeling of stretching out my tense muscle.

There are several types of yoga and the type that i have been practising is called Hatha Yoga. The relaxation techniques incorporated in yoga can lessen chronic pain, such as arthritis, lower back pain, and headaches. Head stand is quite good in curing headaches. Yoga actually do benefits us in many ways which includes:

1) Increased flexibility
2) Cardio and circulatory health
3) Maintaining a balanced metabolism
4) Improved respiration, energy and vitality
5) Perfect your posture
6) Drops your blood pressure
7) Increased muscle strength and tone, even though we are not lifting weights nor doing intense physical exercise

Apart from these physical benefits, i personally think that yoga really do help people in managing stress. Honestly, stress can reveal itself in different ways, including back or neck pain, sleeping problems, headaches, inability to concentrate and etc. I am that kind of person who always experience neck pain or headaches (due to assignment + exams in my uni). Ever since i start practicing yoga, these kind of symptoms starting to reduce, but quite often i still feel very tense for my shoulder, might be due to my long hour of sitting in front of the computer in the office nowadays plus incorrect sitting position. Sometimes I have no idea what sitting position I am in when i was busy working ;p Beside that, I also have a little bit of back problem. My spine is not proper aligned and i think this is kinda common in the ladies population because of the walking posture and not to mention our love-and-hate killing heels. In some kind of position, I am really struggling in doing so. It's like so suffering in this kind of pain and tense, and often i can't stand even a few secs of maintaining one position due to this problem.

I found this yoga poster quite cute from Google.
